Abstract

This research was motivated by the fact that students of class 2A at SD Islam Assunnah still struggle to express their ideas during Cultural Arts and Crafts (SBDP) lessons. Their ability to demonstrate creativity is low, and they remain heavily dependent on teacher instructions. The purpose of this study is to stimulate students’ creative thinking through storytelling collage activities, enhance their creative thinking skills, and enable them to imagine and express all the ideas in their minds. This study employed a classroom action research (CAR) approach using the Stephen Kemmis and Robin McTaggart model, with data collected through observation and tests. The results indicate that the creative thinking skills of class 2A students at SD Islam Assunnah can be improved through storytelling collage activities in Cultural Arts and Crafts (SBDP) learning. The improvement in students’ creative thinking skills can be seen through the average scores obtained in Cycle I and Cycle II. In Cycle I, the results met the “good” criteria, with an average score of 8.11; 16 students (66.7%) fell into the “good” category, while 8 students (33.3%) were in the “fair” category. In Cycle II, the average score increased to 8.58, with 8 students (33.3%) achieving the “very good” category and 16 students (66.7%) remaining in the “good” category.
